Kolob Colors is a photograph I made in Kolob Canyon during peak fall—golden aspens in the foreground against towering red sandstone walls. I slowed my pace to read the light and form, aiming for an image that invites a pause—so viewers can feel the place as well as see it. Archival prints available.
I first found this side canyon while exploring Kolob in autumn—an intimate pocket of color tucked beneath cathedral walls. The composition grew from the relationship between foreground aspens and the vast red cliffs behind them.
